Pickens

Our Fourth Region game of the year is with the Pickens Blue Flame. Due to the re-scheduling required by re-alignment this year we will have to once again make the Friday Night trip to Pickens towards the end of the season, and if history is any indication of the weather, Take a Warm Coat.

According to the Greenville News, BHP leads The Series since 1986 with a record of 5 - 3. This is another game where the teams' records can be tossed as Pickens Surprised a very good Bear team in 1999 with an upset loss at Pickens late in the year. All time, Pickens leads this series with 10 wins to BHP's 7 and there has been 1 Tie with a score of 0 - 0 in 1975.

Pickens will have some returning all Region Players and should be a very good Football Team. Couple that with the fact that Pickens felt that last year's contest which was won by the BEARS by a score of 25 - 8 should have been much closer, The Blue Flames will be ready to burn. Let's Just hope Coach Green and the staff remember to pack the Fire Extinguishers.

General Directions

The Best way (At least for me) to Pickens is to Pick-up Highway #8 In Williamston or Where it crosses I-85. Follow Highway #8 until you come to a "T" Intersection at the McDonalds (Good Food) in Pickens, SC. Turn Right at the Light and the Football Stadium will be immediately on your Right.

Note:  Please accept my apology that this update was not put up until today.  Bell South refuses to repair a "crackling" noise in my phone line, and after it rains, I can't stay connected long enough to update the Website.  Maybe it will be Dry next week!

With tonight's win, and Seneca's Defeat of Daniel on opening night in their new stadium, The BEARS are now in Position to win the Western AAA outright with a Victory over Wren Next Week.
