#43 Bryan Miller Scored (2)
Touchdowns, #28 Tyree Gray Scores
once and #11 Chase Reeves Adds (2)
PAT's and Field Goal to help the Bears to a 23 - 15 Win over
visiting Westside in the First Game in the newly Renovated Bears Den.
The defense played extremely well in the first half and Held when required
to seal the victory in the Second Half.
The offensive line
opened some nice holes and protected #12
O'bryan Clinkscales to help the Bears improve their record to 1 -1
going into next weeks game with The Mustangs from Palmetto.
As regular readers can see, this game
report has changed since Friday Night. Somehow, I lost the page and had to
re-create it! I had some notes at the end and am not sure I can
remember exactly what I said Friday night. I know that I was
disappointed that we couldn't go out onto the field. The reason, as
I understand it, is that we are supposed to get some kind of new
rubber compound laid this week on the track. No one (Besides myself
of course) has ever accused me of being a Genius, But I can't understand
how a surface will hold up to track athletes running, but not fans walking
across. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? I'm sure there is a good explanation,
I'm just nor sure that anyone will be able to explain it to me. I guess we
can be just as Happy Congratulating them as they Leave the Field. Maybe We
can start a new TRADITION, Since the old one is Gone. Now I am (42) Years
old and will get over it. But I also know of many children that were
also disappointed that they couldn't go out on the "Big" field and see
their favorite players.
In any event,
Congratulations to the Coaching staff and the Players on a great win.
Let's get ready for the visiting Mustangs next week! I would also like to
thank and applaud the efforts of the High School Administration and Staff
in getting this game played at Home even in the construction environment.
You guys did a Great Job!
